Eastern Himalayan subalpine conifer forest with kangchendzonga mountain range from Singalila National Park India.
Singalila National Park is one my favorite national parks. It has a magnificent view of its habitat. This image was taken during the winter. This area has varying range of altitude which I wanted portray in a dramatic light.

Red Fox Vulpes vulpes at Spiti Valley Himachal Pradesh IndiaIn India Red fox are found only in the Himalaya. I photographed this one near a Himalayan Village in Spiti valley, situated at an altitude of 4300 meters , during winter this year ( February 2011) . I wanted to get a portrait of this with the Himalayan habitat. I spent several days in the area to observe their behavior and found that the foxes are very much dependent on the residual food, specially the left over meat and skin thrown by the villagers. During the winter when the Mountain is covered by the snow and there is no sign of vegetation any where around, the villagers of the area get meat from the livestock and eat them, they throw the skins and the bones in a particular area . I put the camera with a wide angle lens in that place, I included the habitat in the frame and with a remote trigger I got this exactly how I wanted.

Western Hoolock gibbon is a endangered mammals and only Ape in India. Habitat Loss, fragmantation and poachin are the main threat for this primate.
This image was taken near Ulley village in Ladakh. It was taken with help of Nikon remote ML3. This cat killed a domestic animal and I set a hide close to it and used to observe the cat closely. I have never seen the leopard to eat the kill during the daytime. It always ate during the night. Generally Snow leopard kills wild goats, hares, Marmots etc for their food but their prey base also include domestic animals with a significant percentage.

This area is a dumping ground of dead cows camels and dogs of Bikanir city in Rajasthan. I went there to shoot vultures and eagles and I was spellbound to see the ground where thousand of small heaps of plastics were distributed. Each heap of plastic came out from the stomach of cows after they decomposed and all these plastics were eaten by them in the city.
Himalayan Bull Frogs are common but rarely seen in the himalaya. They are found in thick forest and stream bank between the altitude of 1000mt to 4000mt. In eastern himalaya specially in Darjeeling area this frog is considered to be of medicinal value and a large number of them are caught due to that and that becomes its main threat. In my trek in Singalila NP I found the boy collecting frogs from a small stream. Thank god I could make the understand and released the frog.
